Two thin slats of wood hold a collection of paper of various sizes. The writing itself bears scrawls, writeouts and scratchthroughs. Careful looking will reveal most of the poor spelling diction and grammer being marked through and more typical writing being left.

I woke again and went to open things. The crier called a name. I said c'ngrats. I used words and she gestured and wrote some letters on the ground. Avaryn. I guess that's her name. Maybe it's what she wants her name to be. When you don't know someone they could give a different name. Would it still be real?
She didn't say anything but we talked anyway. She drew pictures and I said yes. It would be good.
The crier called her name and it sounded different from the spelling. I'm still getting better with mine. I'm not making as many mistakes now. I hope Teacher would be pleased.
She likes her shield and that's good. You should like what you carry.
I needed some more supplies. I'm glad I could buy them. There's lots of things for sale but I don't want most of them. Maybe some of the things I want will be for sale when I look next.
I went to see some of the different quiet darks today. I don't know if you can get from one to another without going through the loud. Maybe you can. Maybe I'll look for that.
There were demons at the doorway. They're dead now.

I went and took care of the locks like I said. Some places people talked about watching after dark. I said maybe they needed torches. It's always good to have light. No one could say about Light. That's okay. It's forever and now doesn't matter when there's that.
I went to the inn today. Waterfall was there. I haven't seen her in a long time. Badger was there too. He introduced me to someone he called Curly. Waterfall asked what he wanted to be called and he said Lock.
I asked what sort of lock. We talked about that a while. Some locks need to be broken to open them and they're not any good after. Others are already open or easy to open. That way you can use them again. Sometimes you can't. Sometimes it's easier to break the hinges.
Jaltz was there too. It was good to see him. There were others too. They didn't talk much. It was good to see people.

I didn't know him but he visited the trainer. I said c'ngrats and he asked for help. It was a good box. It wasn't too rusted and the lock was easy to reach. I didn't need to break the hinges. I told him what was in it. I think he was happy. That's good.
There were many in Milltown. I said hello to some. Jael was there. She talked about being a Jael. Maybe there are more? She said she hadn't seen others. I wonder if all Jaels look alike. She talked about telling her if I ran into any more. I hope I don't. It sounds like it would hurt. Maybe she means it like Gar did. I wouldn't mind seeing if there are other Jaels too.
I saw Egret. We talked a bit. I remembered his question. I haven't answered it yet. Maybe I will one day. It's a good question to hold onto. He started talking about them. I didn't say anything. It's better that way.
He said he was tired because he'd been on patrol. I asked about others. He didn't know. Maybe I'll see some next waking.
